Measures provided by a proposal of Intervention Measures Act to curb the COVID-19 epidemic and mitigate its consequences for citizens and the economy
Last Saturday, 28.03.2020, the Slovenian Government proposed a new package of measures to curb the COVID-19 epidemic and mitigate its consequences. Since the proposal is extensive, the KIRM PERPAR team prepared an article with some of the most important measures proposed in order to preserve jobs and help companies.
The current measures that were adopted to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are expected to have a significant impact on the fulfilment of contractual obligations. We are aware that a consensual resolution and settlement of relationships is not always possible, that is why we have set out some general rules of contractual obligations that may be relevant in the current situation
Possible measures for employers arising from Employment Relationship Act (»ZDR-1«) in times of exceptional circumstances
Due to exceptional circumstances an employer may unilaterally assign an employee to another type of work or another place of work (including work from home). Such measure can only last for the duration of exceptional circumstances. In addition, employers may invoke some other options provided by ZDR-1.
