The courts are again ruling in non-urgent cases, time limits do not continue to run

06 May, 2020

On Monday, 04 May 2020, The President of the Supreme court issued a new Order that is partially lifting the special measures in judiciary, adopted to limit the spread of the epidemics. As of Tuesday, 05 May 2020, the courts may again rule, hold hearings and serve court documents also in non-urgent cases, provided that they have taken the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the infection. Hearings will be held by videoconference, if possible.

Despite the service of court documents, time limits will not continue to run for the time being. As the parties to the procedure can familiarize themselves with the documents, they can nevertheless perform procedural actions to speed up the procedure. The decision on when the time limits will start to run again will be announced at a later date.

More information is available on the following link: Order of the President of the Supreme Court (available only in Slovene).
