The end of COVID-19 epidemic in Slovenia

18 May, 2020

On 31 May 2020, the Slovenian government is repealing the epidemic with a new ordinance, but the restrictive measures will remain in force. As of Friday (new ordinance), upon arrival in Slovenia, quarantine is no longer necessary for citizens of Slovenia and other EU countries. The new ordinance allows the gathering of up to 50 people in public places from 18 May, taking into account the appropriate distance. The government also amended the ordinance on border measures. The opening of the borders will take place gradually, and the list of countries from which entry into Slovenia will be allowed will be regularly updated.

As of 31 May 2020, most measures in the field of justice are being lifted, except for those for which the ZIUZEOP defines a certain period of time after the repeal of the measures.

On 18 May 2020, a number of measures will be lifted; under the new ordinance, all shops and restaurants will be able to open, and the bars will be able to serve guests indoors again. The government has also taken a decision in principle to gradually open educational institutions. The NIJZ instructions must be strictly followed when loosening all measures.

As of 1 May 2020, the second anti-corona law and a comprehensive amendment to the first anti-corona law, as well as an amendment to the law on temporary measures in the judiciary and administration, which brings partial repeal of measures in courts and public administration, are in force.
